Consumerism
Consumerism, a never-ending game,
Where wants and needs are all the same.
We buy and buy, with little thought,
Of the consequences that are wrought.
We're told we need the latest thing,
A new phone or a diamond ring.
But what we really need is peace,
And love that cannot be increased.
We work and work, to earn more cash,
But happiness is hard to grasp.
We fill our homes with stuff and clutter,
But our hearts remain a little flutter.
So let us break this endless cycle,
And think before we buy and pile.
For true fulfillment cannot be found,
In material things that litter the ground.
